School Libraries in Kashatagh

4.8.2017

In 2006, the Foundation conducted a study of schools in the border regions of Artsakh and found that many did not possess libraries or even bookshelves. Working in conjunction with the NKR Ministry of Education, we then worked quickly to provide these: Library spaces were created or expanded, as needed, and schools were stocked with dozens of basic fiction, non-fiction, and instructional materials. To date, these libraries have been widely welcomed by the population and serve not only as an educational tool, but as a morale-boost for village inhabitants.

This project was made possible through a generous grant from an anonymous donor.
