Provision of Mattresses and Blankets

From 1999 until 2003, the Foundation distributed over 2,400 sets of wool mattresses and blankets to five orphanages, thirteen special schools, three kindergartens and other agencies. Excess wool from Tufenkian carpet production was used to make the blankets and mattresses.

Originally envisioned as a “one-off” assignment, this project continued for 5 years as many orphanages featured beds that were threadbare, using mattresses left over from Soviet times.[ top ]
