This program was designed not only to help people meet their living expenses, but also to create a better atmosphere in their communities by forming a system of mutual help among refugees.
The implementer of this project, “Mission Armenia,” acquired yarn and distributed it to refugees to knit sweaters. The World Food Program contributed to the project by providing food for the beneficiaries. Over the course of two years, refugee families knitted 1,800 sweaters and 3,400 pairs of woolen socks that were distributed throughout Armenia.[ top ]
