The Intersection of Social Work and Christianity

We are delighted to announce that recently Qnarik Garanfilyan, Director of the “Family and Community” NGO in Metsamor published her book about the Christian origins of modern social work. This book become a reality due to James Tufenkian’s support. Since the opening of “Family and Community” NGO, the center has been in tight cooperation with the Armenian Apostolic Church, which helped Qnarik see the strong connection between Christianity and social work. Even though social work is considered to be a relatively new field of science, she believes that its ideology has been present in Christianity from the very beginning. We hope her book will contribute to a stronger presence of social work in Armenia. TF’s whole team congratulates Qnarik on this occasion.
