At the end of August, the Shushi “Shogh” Daycare Center welcomed their strong supporter Mira Antonyan, for a three-day counseling visit. Antonyan, who is the chairperson of the Children’s Support Center of the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR), has eagerly taken the role of Supervisor of the Shushi Center’s social work services, since the beginning of the program. This visit was special because Mira, along with the Shogh Center staff, focused primarily on meetings with local officials with the purpose to present the Shogh Daycare Center’s working model, its mission and vision, hence trying to develop a good collaboration with them to make the center’s work increasingly efficient. Moreover, trying to expand the Center’s cooperation with the field’s specialists (schoolteachers, education specialists for children with special needs, etc.) Mira held an introductory seminar on social work. During these days, our TF donor-activists who were visiting Shushi, had the opportunity to learn about the life and challenges at the Shogh Center directly from Mira.
The Shushi “Shogh” day-care center is a joint program of the Tufenkian Foundation and the Armenian Missionary Association of Amrerca (AMAA).
